In May of 2016, Dr. James Evans operated on my brain to remove a benign meningioma that had grown from insignificant to life-threatening. I couldn't have had a better surgeon. Not only is Dr. Evans an outstanding surgeon, he is also a wonderful human being. A physician who empathizes with his patients and the members of their families, he patiently listened as we expressed our concerns and answered all our questions. I went into surgery reassured, confident that he would remove the tumor so carefully and skillfully that in all likelihood I would survive. Four years later, I am 88, still alive, still active in my community, still married to the man I married 61 years ago, and still surrounded by my loving family. Thank you, Dr. Evans. Best neurosurgeon in the world! Saved my life. 16 years ago they found a mass in my head and gave me six months to live and because of Dr. Evans I’m still here. He is still my neurosurgeon and also see my son. I trust this man with my life and my families life! I won’t see anyone but him!

He recently took over the care of my 82 year old mother who was suffering with slurring speech, difficulty with gait and walking, unable to write suddenly. She was diagnosed with a mass in her cerebellum. I had her transferred to Jefferson and she came under the care of Dr. Evans. He is hands down the best doctor out there. He is straight forward, yet caring, funny, great bedside manner and most importantly, the best neurosurgeon at Jefferson and I would say one of the best in the country. He operated on my mom, removed the tumor and the very next day she was able to write again and her speech went back to normal. Thank you Dr. Evans for everthing.

I had surgery with Dr Evans Sept 12/2017 for removal of a pituitary adenoma. I can’t say I was nervous, I wasn’t because I knew I was in the best hands. Doc is a brilliant surgeon. I must say he is one of the kindest human being I ever came across. I met him four years ago and I Respect Dr Evans as my Neurosurgeon but I can also joke around with him and that is important. When a patient has surgery they are scared and the Surgeon who has a great bedside manor makes them feel less afraid. Dr Evans explained my procedure, post op what to expect and i did completely well. I would recommend Doc to all my loved ones. Thank you Doc for being The best and taking great care of me.
