Summary
Once interested in attending vet school, Dr. Evans found his real calling was helping people. Born and raised in Iowa, he is a graduate of Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. After undergraduate school, he took off one year and volunteered as a nurse's aid at St. Mary's hospital in Norton, Virginia. It was there he confirmed his desire to become a doctor and fell in love with the region. He attended St. Louis University School of Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at East Tennessee State University. He finished his vascular surgery fellowship at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. In 1990, he returned to Johnson City to begin his medical career as a member of the ETSU faculty. Dr. Evans worked six years with the University and the VA Hospital before entering private practice. Currently, Dr. Evans practices all spectrums of vascular surgery including the newer endovascular stents and grafts, venous surgery, dialysis access and all traditional …vascular reconstructions.
