Thank you dr Flaherty for great care

My mother put her life in his hands, and she ended up dying on his operating table--in a surgery that we were told had a 1% chance of mortality during surgery. Are we even sure he performed the surgery? When you go to a teaching hospital, unfortunately, you cannot be sure. I was assured he would be performing the surgery; however, he did not visit my mother pre-op--a Fellow did (Dr. Ortiz)--which now makes us think that the fellow was the doctor who was trying to place the valve. Dr. Flaherty did not talk to our family after my mother died in surgery. We never had a chance to say goodbye to her; she did not receive last rites from a priest. We still are suffering PTSD. Go somewhere else other than Northwestern, and go to someone else other than Dr. Flaherty and Dr. Ortiz.

My first appointment with Dr. Flaherty was wonderful and informative. He spent time to explain differences in coronary plaque, stabilization, lipid and water based statins, etc. I recommend him to anyone who wants to get ahead of their coronary issues.

I have been seeing Dr. Flaherty since my heart attack in 2009 and so far, I am very satisfied with his support and bedside manner.
