Dr. James Donald Franklin, MD

He is the most caring doctor I have ever had care for me and if I can find his new practice I will follow him there.

I am sorry Dr. Franklin is leaving. If there is a perfect doctor, then he is it. His staff are super.

Dr. Franklin takes time to meet with his patients and to understand what problems they may be having. He never makes me feel rushed. He is also a great listener. I never leave with the feeling that he dismissed any of my concerns. I recommend him to everyone. Also, his nurse Lynn is great and very prompt at returning calls.

First of all, to get an appointment with Dr. Franklin is as easy as a pie. I always call in and they have appointment for that same day and in the worst case for the next day at most. The waiting time is just like 5 minutes. Doctor Franklin has excellent bedside manners. He answers all your questions and concerns, but the best is that he hears you. He is never in a rush and always has a smile. He is a very sweet doctor. The best he has is that he never refuses to send you any test and I mean any: MRI, CT, blood work to see if you have Lupus or any other weird disease. I say it by my own experience. As you all know any general doctor would not send you an MRI, CT unless it is an emergency. What they do is that they send you to the specialist so they order those tests out for you. Dr. Franklin not only sends you to all the specialists you ask him, but he resends you to another specialist if you do not like the specialist you have. That was my case, I did not like the cardiologist and… electro physiologist I was seeing from GHS , so he sent me to the group of St. Francis. I was also feeling awfully tired and he sent me all the test that a Rheumatologist would send. I was so pleased with his service I told my husband and my mother to go see him and change doctors. And now we all go here. I was seeing another general doctor who refused to take me a complete profile of blood work ( Cholesterol and all those test) because he said I was to young ( 36) to have problems with Cholesterol. I changed to Dr. Franklin crossing fingers. Well guess what? On 1st visit he asked: How long has it been since you do not get blood work? I said a couple years doc maybe 3-4. He asked why? I said : no insurance. He then sent everything including VIT D, which came out I had deficiency and also a bit high Cholesterol. I would never change of doctors and recommend him to anyone

I am appalled at the other two reviews listed here, especially the one that talks ugly about Lynn. OMG Lynn is one of the nicest nurses I know... As far as being charged through the nose. Well if Trinette set up your physical appointment she let you know up front that if you address anything other than your physical you would be charged accordingly. I got a little frustrated initially however I have grown to understand the logic behind the madness and I am so much more appreciative of being informed up front. This review forum is to review Dr. Franklin anyway not the practice. As for Dr. Franklin, I am more than pleased with his level of confidence in what he does but I would be doing him a dis service if I did not mention his patience is above all others. I would recommend him to any and everybody.

Went in for a routine physical. Was charged for the physical $202 + $574 in lags. Then for the same visit, they charged another office visit because he wrote a prescription refill ($201). Was told that if any other issue is addressed during the physical, they can charge a separate office visit, and since he refilled a prescription, it triggered another visit. Expect to be overcharged if you go to this practice!!

I was dismissed from this practice because I was told I missed to many appointments. That is not true i have tried to get my medication thru mail order and he failed to do it. Also front desk are nasty and so is the nurse Lynn I would not advise anyone to see him.
