I really like him. he's very nice and gets to the point.

Since 2014 when the name 'James T Frecka MD' was first urged on me for my consideration (he was with a different physician network at the time, I followed him to TCHN), I have had over seven surgeries and a handful of therapies where he was either the followup, the referring Primary, or both. He's everything I was hoping for in a Primary. I have yet to be misled in any of his specialist references, especially his two surgeon colleagues as reflective and alert as he, the first of which evidenced his judgment is truly independent and professional. He clearly reflects on his patients even when not in front of him,e.g. respects/listens to my not always clearly described (or worse, laymanly misdescribed) symptoms and protesting that tho standard best practices neither the tests nor consequent therapies were addressing either my pain(which I could handle) or more serious dysfunctions. My most recent urgent surgery followed his ordering a couple of days before my afternoon appointment for a… standard follow up test a different diagnostic test to be done just before it (I had balked from doing what to me appeared to be exploratory or confirmatory surgery, having 'solved---or so I thought---on my own without meds or procedure' the underlying cause and severe disabling pain I had been experiencing.) Tho 'off duty',a day he just worked the morning, he was monitoring and called in for the results. As I was driving back from the tests I received a call from one of his nurses, pulled over to the side of the road, and was informed in very empathetic tone and provided the phone# to set up immediate surgery ASAP, make sure to call his office should there be a difficulty. 'Efficient' in the headline is perhaps redundant given my resolve and budget (time&$), necessarily included in 'effective', as he judiciously does not order every applicable test or therapy.
