Dr. James E Garrett, MD

My father was taken to OMH by ambulance, by mistake. What a mistake it was. There he saw Dr. Garrett, after about an hour wait. He was diagnosed with pneumonia. The Dr. gave him fluids and a bit of levaquin (mainly used for UTI’s) and told there’s nothing more that can be done. “Sorry about your nausea, bowel and bladder issues, pneumonia and your luck. You should feel better in a few days.” 6 hours later he was discharged. At 71 years old!!! I picked up my father, who immediately began to violently vomit, went back to the ER, where pregnant “Nurse Ratchet” told me that they couldn’t and wouldn’t do anything else. I then took my father to Carteret Health in MHC. There they saw him within 1 minute and admitted him to the PCC ward, where he should have been all along. Terrible medicine and terrible service with this Dr. and Onslow Memorial.

Dr. Garrett was very impressive as an ER physician. I was hoping to follow up with him at a private practice. I haven't found any in the area.
