Very pleasant well informed doctor with great bedside manner.

I was dissatisfied with the treatment given to my son by this ER doctor. He had made his diagnosis before even letting me getting a word in. I understand I do not have an MD after my name, or any letters for that matter. But as a mother, I know when something is wrong with my child...as do most. He basically insulted my intelligence because I did not use proper medical terminolgy in describing my son's symptoms. So after running zero tests on my child who was wheezing, turning purple and wretching with no production of phlegm or vomit, the doctor passed him off as having a simple "cold" and gave him a bogus saline breathing treatment and some antibiotics. No blood test, no chest x-rays, nothing.I ended up taking my child to ANOTHER ER where he had an ASTHMA attack right in front of the doctors. I appreciate the fact that ER doctors are busy and work in a high stress environment..but bedside manner has definitely suffered in the recent years. This is why I am happy my son's pediatrician… isn't a 30 year old arrogant knucklehead.

My wife suffered a pulmonary embolism. This is a critical and fatal condition a large percentage of the time. With fast and accurate diagnosis, my wife is still alive thanks to Dr. Garvey. He is an ER doctor, so it's not likely we'll ever use him personally again --- but he will always have my gratitude.
