Dr. James Joseph Gatto, MD

I was a patient with Dr Gatto for over 15 years. I noticed the quality of care lessen as Aurora grew. I stayed with him because I didn't know any better. I can honestly say he rarely spent more than 10 minutes with me. He misdiagnosed me on at least 4 occasions. His nursing and medical assistants were rude and condescending on most visits. I am so happy I left.

Very caring and informative

Waited way too long to see him. He was full of himself, arrogant, and narcissistic. Acted like he knew what my problem was in about a minute but would not even let me tell him my symptoms. Wrote me a script for something not even related to the reason I went there. Will not be back.

Five years ago I would have rated him 5 stars, but two missed diagnoses later, I have left Aurora clinic all together. Phone calls are not returned by staff, or are returned days late. He used to respond to phone calls but not anymore. I was even told to wait out an illness that was serious enough for me to see another physician and be prescribed something different. For years I told him I was fatigued before I had observed sleep apnea at home and was finally able to get a sleep study. My child just tried to book an appt for a physical 3 weeks out and had to see someone else.

He is quick to pass you off to a specialist. Too quick. He does not return calls, even if you specifically request that he call. Office visit costs $350. He disregarded my request for a lymes test until I insisted. Then he sent me off to three specialists-dermatologist ( who suspected lymes the first day), ear,nose and throat, cardiologist, booked me with two additional -rhuematologist and neurologist a series of follow up visits in a one week period. Three days into the process and expenses, the first of my lymes test came back positive. They made me wait two additional days before prescribing the antibiotic. I left a message with his staff asking him to call me as I had questions. Days turned into weeks with no call back. There is no excuse for this type of behavior. I lost all trust in this physician.

Would never recommend. Treats you like a number. Only positive is he will just give you what you want. He did not even do an exam!
