Dr. James Scott Greenspan, MD

Moved to Saratoga Springs, a little more of a drive. Such a wonderful well mannered staff, very pleasant. Always a great experience.

Dr Greenspan has operated on my husband for his back and on myself for cervical dissection....he is by far the best in his field. He took his time explaining the procedure and the risks associated with the surgeries and was at our bed side when we awoke. I would highly recommend Dr. Greenspan.

Dr. Greenspan is one of the most professional and sincere doctors I have had the pleasure to be associated with. He has done surgery on my back twice now, and I have been completely satisfied with his work, professionalism, and sincere kindness, concern and care he has shown toward me. He is there for me on a moment's notice. Dr.Greenspan is a wonderful and talented surgeon who I would go back to in a heartbeat.

Some people evidently think Dr. Greenspan has little to no "bedside manner." I disagree. I saw him at his Glens Falls office today, and I was totally satisfied. He did not "talk down" to me, thank God. Too many Doctors do that, acting as if you could not "chew gum and walk at the same time."I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a neurosurgeon. I cannot comment on "Follows up after visit" because I have not had follow up yet.

Dr. Greenspan and his surgical team saved my life after I suffered a subdural hematoma and couldn't be flown to Albany. Follow-up after my release from the hospital was excellent and he took a conservative approach to more CAT scans. My impression is that he doesn't order procedures just to be doing something. He also explained clearly and answered all my questions directly. He is not a back-slapper or glad-hander; he is a surgeon. If I wanted a buddy to drink beer with, I would look for a buddy to drink beer with. I don't want to repeat the experience of my injury, but if I were to repeat the injury, I would want Dr. Greenspan as the surgeon.

I was only seen for about 15-20 minutes. I was told I should be referred to another specialist, there was no surgery needed. A referral and report was to be sent to my pcp, and we were supposed to get a link to the practice website. We have nothing, our pcp has nothing. We called the office and was told there is nothing listed in the file from the dr. "Sometimes he hits the button too soon and things don't go through". I was transferred to someone to inquire about the website link, but she never picked up the phone. He may be well trained, but he shouldn't be dealing with the public. A ZERO for follow up. That is the lowest we can go! We didn't even get a summary sheet for the visit when we left. One of the worst experiences ever.

The most rude and unprofessional staff and Dr. I have ever been too!

I found him to be rude and arrogant. Blew me off from the minute I walked in the office. I had gone to see him about a second opinion on back surgery, a specialist I saw in the hospital said wait and my primary said I needed it. Dr. Greenspan told me to keeping digging and I would find someone that would be willing to just cut me open and experiment. I was only seeing to find out what he would recommend be done as I had already received to separate recommendations. I wasn't looking for him to just cut me open. I wanted to weigh all my options.

His surgical treatment plan was very different from the Orthopedic Surgeon I had seen. Much more conservative. The surgery was fast and uneventful and I healed without problems. I am 95% back to normal. I can walk and stand for hours. Just started a new job. Very grateful. It's a whole new life.

A wonderful skilled doctor. Very blunt and an ok bedside manner attitude. You have to get to know this doctor and get on the same page. Once that is done it is a better experience. Trust his ability as a doctor.
