Dr. James Stephen Grober, MD

I met with Dr. Grober this morning. My appointment began on time and the doctor came in quickly. That’s a great start. Dr. Grober listened to all of my concerns extremely carefully. He was fully engaged and I felt he was there to help me. While I am fortunate enough to have a primary doctor who has equally impressive bedside manor (and we are really talking about the balance between nearly perfect bedside manor and an intelligent, problem-solving doctor), finding doctors who are empathetic and actually spend the time with a patient is not easy to do in 2019. That type of care, I thought, was gone for good! Big bonus for me—I am dealing with some pain and inflammation. I told him about some of my hang ups with pharmaceuticals. I’m sure he thought I was a quack, but he certainly didn’t show it or be rude/disrespectful. He offered me a natural alternative. A natural option was perfect for me and my comfort level. I did not expect for him to meet me on my level, in a medical way,… and with an option that was lauded in study. Wow. Now we are only talking about a little pain and inflammation, but still. Given my family history and specific description of concerns, he understandably took a forward-moving approach. He ordered a list of blood tests as well as several x-rays. I was already impressed, but what was even more impressive was that he knew one of the tests had to be done by a certain time (and that time was quickly approaching for the day) to have the turnaround he needed before taking some days off work. He didn’t have to tell me that. That was thoughtful. I even received some test results the day of my appointment! I’m impressed. I have a follow up appointment and will review again.

He is an excellent Rheumatologist very kind and gentle.

I have seen Dr. Grober several times for osteoarthritis on my thumbs. He is obviously knowledgeable, experienced, patient, and affords his patients the time they need to answer any question they might have. I had injections on two occasions. The first took a while to take hold and the pain management was inconsistent. The second time I fell down a stair the day after onto my hands - this shot didn't seem to work very well probably because of the insult of the fall. Some days I have zero pain; her days I hurt but need only a few Advil to recover. If it's really bad, I take 2-3 days of Mobic and I'm good. Dr. Grober is a true gentleman, and a gentle man. He's what doctors should be.

Dr. Grober is the epitome of an outstanding Doctor. His professionalism, knowledge, and kindness are striking!

I had seen a few other doctors, who I suspected misdiagnosed me. Dr Grober took the time to hear my case, as he has continued to do so, and gathered all the facts. He agreed with me and has re-diagnosed me while helping me discover another autoimmune disease! He is currently researching to help put my diseases in remission. It is the first time, in quite a while, that I feel hope I don't have to be sick the rest of my life. I'm very glad I found Dr Grober!

Dr. Grober is a compassionate doctor...He is genuine, thorough, and the treatment he has given me over 15 years has been exceptional.
