Dr. James Norman Groth, MD

Dr groth is the best doctor I have ever had. He has genuine concern for Hows patients. He listens, takes the time you need to resolve any issues, and is very accomodating. His staff are great too as they follow up multiple times to see that patients needs are met. Highly recommended!

Dr Groth is a nice guy, but as a Doctor I feel could definitely be more proactive, following up after visits or looking a little deeper into things instead of hurrying me along and sending on my way to treat the next patient. And despite injuries which should clearly show I'm in a great deal of pain, he's been very resistant to prescribe anything stronger than ibuprofen which was quite frustrating.

I used to have Dr. Groth and I know that many people love him.. he is very kind and sincere.. but his lack of diagnostic abilities (maybe lack of updating his education) has played out. Not only with me.. but that is what I will stick with.. two years later.. I know that any well informed Dr. should have been able to diagnose me on the first visit.. he missed the obvious and correct dx. even after I had to go to the hospital er. his followup was.. what did they say to do. This has been the same with a few other patients.. again he is very nice and caring.. but either memory is fading or something.. he just doesn't have it. I did let scripps coastal know.. but no change.. again other patients are also switching.

i have always had good expierances dealing with Dr. Groth and he has always made things as easy as possible.
