Dr. James C. Guarino, MD

This so-called Dr. Guarino is horrendous. His bedside manner is terrible and I am very suspect of his medical competency. Would not recommen

Following a procedure performed by Dr. Guarino I developed bleeding in my mouth. I called the doctor but he was very unhelpful and acted like I was bothering him. He suggested I go to the ER and see an ENT. He actually said “I’m a Cardiologist” and admitted that the ER docs know more about examining issues in the mouth even though he “specializes” in performing procedures that involve putting a probe down a persons throat. Someone should tell him that the throat and mouth are connected and that it’s not acceptable for him to treat the parts of the body outside his specialty like they don’t matter. I am suspending my relationship with him and his practice.

He performed Blepharoplasty on me but did a procedure that we did not discus. 4" of incision over each that healed gaping open. The staff refused to allow me to see the doctor for 4 weeks. 3 years later the gaping wound healed into crevasses. I can not ware eye shadow. He claims you will never see his incision, but that is not true. I have to go under the knife again to have the scaring removed and I can't afford it.

I usually see another doctor in this office and he was busy. They gave me an appoint with Dr. Guarino from the time he stepped in the office he had made up his mind that I was making too much out of my symptoms'. I tried to tell him how I was feeling and he spoke to me as though I was five years old. He kept telling me I wasn't dying, which I never claimed that I was dying just having problems that were hard to live with. He was arrogant and dismissive and when I said I had a certain symptom he said that was hard to believe. He kept telling me I was old and that was how things would be. I am praying that no other patient has to go through what I did when I saw him. Just so you know I had my care giver with me and she was alarmed at how he not only talked to me but how he did nothing to help me. So I need to seek out a new office where I can get the help I need. So sad that some Doctors just don't care. I called a nurse navigator and she advised me that because I am female… that there are doctors out there that dismiss women's complaint, and I found him in Dr Guarino. I pray this doctor does not get sick and get a doctor like him. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
