Dr. James Edward Halvorson, MD

Dr. Halvorson is not like other doctors I have seen in the past. I have seen him personally and assisted clients see him as well. He always takes the time to acknowledge ones concerns, is NEVER dismissive no matter what the concern, he is ALWAYS on top of his game in regards to medical knowledge, and he appears to genuinely care for his patients. He referred a client that I worked with onto a specialist recently for a significant concern. The specialist was very complimentary of Dr. Halvorson and when the patient was diagnosed, Dr. Halvorson was spot on with his initial concern. I trust not only my own care, but my children and clients with him as well. He is simply one of a kind!!! You will be lucky if you chose him as your doctor. I dread the day he retires as I have seen others and none measure up to Dr. Halvorson!!!!!! ~A very thankful patient

One of the best. Caring, listens to what you say, goes out of his way to help your medical needs. Excellent referrals when needed and respectful to his patients.

I stayed loyal to him as a doctor for about 16 years. He refused to run tests that I asked him to and he refused. He brushed me off and ignored and just went through the motions. He said you have "fibro, dear, and you are not so young any more." I begged him, brought him lists of symptoms that he refused to acknowledge. I had to leave to save my life. I have Lyme Disease. It was just a test I asked him to run. I now have neuro-Lyme, Lyme arthritis and I have permanent damage. I am looking at 1-3 years of antibiotics. He just doesn't give a darn, but puts on a good show.

Dr. Halvorson referred me to Mayo Clinic after a concerning appointment. I was very amazed at his level of knowledge as what he was worried about was exactly what Mayo diagnosed. He is very knowledgeable, beyond most family practitioners. Wahpeton Clinic is very lucky to have him on staff. I fear the day he choses to retire as he is the only one I trust my family with. He is very compassionate for his patients!! He had amazing follow up care as well, which made me feel so relieved.

Dr. Halvorson is extremely caring and has helped my son get over his fear of going to the clinic. Dr. Halvorson is very attentive to his patients, no matter what the age. He appears to be very knowledgeable and seems to enjoy what he does. I will be forever grateful for his care to me and my family!!

Dr Halverson is the best doctor ever. I miss him so much but couldn't live in the small town life anymore! He delivered 2 of my babies and was amazing explaining everything.

Dr. Halvorson is an amazing doctor. My family and I have been patients of his for years. He always takes the time to answer my questions, his bedside manners are just perfect (caring beyond words), and is incredibly knowledgable!!! I would not trust my family with anyone else!!!!

I think it's difficult to get in to see Dr. Halvorson when I or my family members are sick primarily because I think he's a popular doctor. When I do get in to see him, he is polite and caring, listens to my concerns, and clearly explains his diagnosis.
