Dr. James Ross Hanahan JR., MD

Dr. Hanahan helped my grandfather endure the ravages of terminal cancer in 1980-81 and helped our family for years. He helped me to find pain management with non-narcotics after serious injuries in 2013, and he never fails to ask about our family members who have moved away since the 1980's. A true family doctor concerned with all aspects of treatment despite the traps of modern "paperwork" protocols and corporate and gov't attempts to acquire every small practice in America. He could have retired last year at 68 after open heart surgery, but he returned to work to care for his patients a few days and hours per week. How many in med' school are planning on being a primary physician as required by insurance and the new ACA laws ? None. Dr. Hanahan is from a dying breed of much needed doctors in family practices rather than specialists. He wanted to be a baby doctor himself when he was young but malpractice insurance costs put him in our community as a pillar for generations of many,… many patients including my grandparents and their descendants for over 35 years.
