Dr. James Hawkins, DO

I can not say enough about Dr Hawkins besides he beyond a doctor he’s is an angel. About 14 years ago he saved my life by taking charge and giving me a blood transfusion. Fast forward 14 years and he happen to be the one call at VWCH when I ended up in the with covid while pregnant. He had me airlifted to the best hospital. He never left my bedside until I has in the helicopter. He held my hand the entire and reassured me of everything!!! He goes beyond on what the title of doctor is and I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for him.

Hawkins is an excellent doc with a great bedside manner. I have been a patient for years and he has helped welcome earthside 2 of my babies. I was high risk with my last, he took the time with me to set up a plan. He was always available to answer any questions. He was very timely in answering pages and meeting me at hospital. Even for non pregnancy womens healthcare he and his staff a wonderful

A wonderful doctor and an even better man. Treats you with respect and with concern and takes the time to really listen to you in a caring way. One of the best doctors I've ever seen and will ever see!!!

I have been a patient of Dr Hawkins for over 5 years. He has walked through so many of life's ups and downs with me and my family. While you do have to wait to see him, as his practice is extremely busy, you know that when you do get in to see him, you have his full 100% attention. He is kind, compassionate and very supportive. I would never go to another Dr. as long as he is practicing. I hope he continues to practice for another 20 years!

I started seeing Dr. Hawkins about nine years ago. He is compassionate. He does try to take the time to get to know his patients. He has been so supportive during my pregnancy.

I have had some great experiences with Dr Hawkins!! I have had several ob/gyn's (i'm very picky) and I am so happy I found him! He really cares, makes himself available 24x7 via pager, cell phone, house phone, or office during pregnancy. The only things I wish were different is on occassion he has run behind and I've waited in the office itself for up to 45 minutes for a two minute check up during prgnancy. This doesnt happen all the time but it has a few times. He is so concerned for his patients, if anything is even slightly off, he will see you asap or have you go to the hospital. He helps you up when laying down for heart beats, etc. I had a miscarriage before but with Dr Hawkins helped, I've made it pretty far through the pregnancy. Despite being a difficult complicated pregnancy, I feel very confident this baby will be healthy and full term with his help!!! Would HIGHLY recommend, just be patient if at times he's more busy than usual. :)

He is awesome!! I have been going to him for almost 11 years now and I couldn't ask for a better doctor! He remembers various things about his patients. He makes follow up phone calls after surgeries and other emergencies. He really gets attached to his patients. I drive over an hour just to see him just because that is how great he is!

Dr. Hawkins was part of a team that saved my life when I had an ectopic pregnancy. I was so impressed with all of the care I received from him that I made him my new obgyn. He delivered both my children. He is professional and courteous. He called me at home after my surgeries to ensure I was doing well. He really cares about his patients as people. I know many patients of his who all feel he is outstanding.

I couldnt have asked for a better doctor. He is kind, compassionate and has a heart of gold. He has been there for me with all of my five children, and I hope he can help more people in the future.

I am very picky when it comes to selecting a doctor and Dr. Hawkins is simply the best. He's delivered all three of my children and I wouldn't trust my healthcare to anyone else.
