Dr. James Henry Herndon Jr, MD

I was seen by Dr. Herndon initially on a referral from a local dermatologist because of lack of improvement even after many months of steroid treatment. He confirmed that I had been misdiagnosed. Since my initial visit, I have seem him many times and have become more and more convinced of his high intelligence and knowledge in his field. He takes as much time as necessary for a patient to completely understand the diagnosis and treatment.

I had been to 5 different providers with a skin rash that kept me up nights itching. Dr. Herndon not only treated it, but he knows all the current research on pharmacology. He tells me what he is prescribing and how they interact with my current medications. He knows all the current studies in medical research. His breadth and depth of knowledge is astounding.

I've been a patient of Dr. Herndon's for many years. Dr. Herndon has always spent extra time with me, takes photographic images of problem areas and has examined and biopsied rashes using specialized instruments. Even more amazing was my rheumatologist on examination observed a strange rash on my feet and suggested I see my dermatologist. I went to Dr. Herndon and after examining, diagnosing, and treating the rash on my feet, he noticed I was obviously in pain rubbing my elbow and in the ensuing discussion that I was seeing a rheumatologist for fibromyalgia he reminded me I had a severe psoriasis outbreak years ago (showing me the pictures he had taken at the time of my head, back of neck, down arms, and trunk were severely affected) and the symptoms I described could very well be indicating psoriatic arthritis. Dr. Herndon then went on to describe in detail the telltale symptoms and causes of the pain I have been experiencing. He advised me to tell the rheumatologist of my… psoriasis history (which I had totally forgotten), and my rheumatologist immediately reassessed my treatment plan to address and prevent any further joint deterioration caused by psoriatic arthritis. Best Dermatologist and one of the finest doctors I have ever seen.

I went to Dr, Herndon for the treatment of a skin rash condition and he did not even request to see the rash. He never even bothered to give a diagnosis to me. I am sure his office will be very efficient in processing my insurance forms to get their money. I feel like I was robbed by a bandit in a white coat.
