Dr. James Higgins, MD

Dr. Higgins took the time to complete a thorough assessment and a appreciated his explanation of the pathology of the injury, surgical consideration/complications, treatment options , and potential outcomes and complications. The appointment and interactions with him and his staff were textbook examples of excellence. I felt confident when I left that I had made the correct decision to have Dr. Higgins evaluate my hand and to guide my treatment plan.

From the moment I walked into the waiting room, I was immediately greeted by the staff. Minutes later, another staff member escorted me to an examination room and politely explained that there will be a short wait. Dr Higgins came in a timely matter. He was interested in my symptoms and gave suggestions to help alleviate my pain. Great first visit!

Dr Higgins is very good at what it does and easy to talk to. Explained everything so I could understand what I had to do.

Dr. Higgins is a very good surgeon specializing in plastic and hand surgery. In 2021 Dr. Higgins saved my leg…yes you read that correctly. I had surgery on my right leg by another Dr. and clots formed and were cut out and leg opened. That Dr. contacted Dr. Higgins and believe me Dr. Higgins performed a miracle. I thought for sure I was going to lose my leg. Thank you Dr. Higgins. Highly recommend.

I just can't express how much I love Dr Higgins. My primary referred me to him because she was his patient and I'm forever grateful she did. I think he needs to be a professor somewhere teaching up and comings bedside manners. He listens and doesn't cut you off. I don't feel rushed through my appointment. This is my second time seeing him and even if I thought the first time was a fluke, I'm now convinced he's just a great Dr and human. I really just can't get over how mild mannered he is. I just want to recommend him to everyone, everywhere. He really talks to you not at you. I'm sorry for rambling but I still have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not in some kind of twilight zone because I've only had one other Dr like this. My Ob/Gyn and when he retired it was the saddest moment because I never found another one like him. Dr Higgins will not be allowed to retire EVER, because. well just BECAUSE ....

I truly appreciate Dr. Higgins. His bedside manner, clear explanations, and availability are second to none. I also want to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone I’ve interacted with in the office and at the Lutherville Surgicenter. The entire team is exceptionally responsive, caring, and attentive. I wish every medical practice operated with this level of professionalism and compassion. Highly recommended.

Dr. Higgins was very accommodating in fitting our son in for his football injury, and most importantly was extremely thorough in identifying a fracture that was missed initially in the ER, he then fit us in the next morning for surgery. Thanks again.
