Dr. James Alan Hoffman, MD

I had decided to go through Dr. Hoffman as I had been referred by a friend when I had already had an appointment set through another plastic surgeon. I went for my consult and immediately changed my decision right on the spot. Dr. Hoffman is very knowledgeable and explained all the risks and made me feel more comfortable with proceeding with my surgery for breast augmentation. I am currently about 1 and a half week post surgery and I am happy with my results so far. His team is amazing and very quick with answering questions and concerns over the phone or email. I have high anxiety and they were able to make it a calm and smooth procedure and the exercises that Dr. Hoffman has you do most places fail to tell you to do and they make a huge difference in the recovery process. Such a great experience so far and highly recommend him and his team!

As a twin cities physician I did a lot of homework when choosing a surgeon to perform my operation. Being a former collegiate football player I had lost considerable weight and was left with loose skin/adipose tissue over my chest and lower abdomen. Dr. Hoffman was the only physician in the twin cities with the type of surgical experience and actual results/testimonials that I was willing to trust for my care. He performed a gynecomastia reduction and mini abdominoplasty along with liposuction contouring. The results were excellent and I could not have been more pleased with the whole perioperative process form initial consultation through the postoperative visits. I would highly recommend Dr. Hoffman and his team to anyone!

One of my breast implants ruptured and I was fortunate to have received Dr. Hoffman’s name from another plastic surgeon. Dr. Hoffman was not my only consult but by the end of my first meeting with him, I knew that I wanted him to be my surgeon. First of all, he seemed to have all the time in the world to talk to me about what I wanted and what he could realistically provide. His soft spoken, unassuming way of explaining things, backed with current literature references, diagrams, and his many years of experience painted a descriptive picture of what he could do. As a health care professional myself, I felt that I could trust him. In the end, after I looked at his impressive portfolio of before and after pictures, I added liposuction of my front and back torso and inner thighs to my bilateral breast implant replacement. My recovery was so quick and easy that I didn’t require so much as a tylenol, let alone a narcotic, after my surgery day. Every one’s pain tolerance is different… but because I know I’m not a martyr, I can only, at the very least, partially attribute this to his surgical expertise. I am very happy with my results and look better than I have in many years, having dropped several sizes. His office staff consists of Nica and Karen, both seasoned health providers with years of solid experience. They work seamlessly as a team with Dr. Hoffman. Nica, a registered nurse, is at the front desk handling everything from scheduling to finances and more. She quite easily answered several of my post op questions without involving Dr Hoffman. Karen assists in the office and at times, provides assistance to Dr. Hoffman in surgery. She was there for mine and I couldn’t have been happier to see her smiling friendly face as I went into surgery. Both of these ladies are very knowledgable and are just as professionally competent, compassionate and respectful as Dr. Hoffman. It felt like coming back to family with all of my office visits. His office waiting area is small and comfortable but I was hardly in it. My average wait to be placed in a room was two minutes and that is because Nica does such a great job of scheduling that I rarely saw any of his other patients and I know he has a busy practice. For me, a person who values privacy, this was a real asset. One other point of consideration is that he will only bring his patients to the surgical centers that he considers the safest, and his standards are high. I would highly recommend Dr. Hoffman. You might be doing yourself a disservice if you do not at least have him on your consultation list.

Dr. Hoffman and his team are absolutely amazing! I have been wanting breast augmentation since high school and finally decided to have the procedure done after having my third child. Dr. Hoffman was able to get me in quickly for my consultant and from that first meeting I knew he was the perfect doctor for me. He instantly made me feel comfortable, spent time to make sure I understood the procedure, his techniques, and what he does to prevent any possible complications. He answered all my questions and allowed me as much time as I needed to review sizes. He and his staff were amazing. He made sure that the size I selected would fit my body appropriately while also fulfilling my wants. After the procedure and during all the follow ups since he has continued to put my mind at ease and has been available by phone, email and in person visits to examine anything I felt was off (even though it was completely normal). Simply put I would see Dr. Hoffman for all my reconstructive desires!
