Dr. James Patrick Hughes, MD

Dr. Hughes is, by far, one of the most patient, kind, knowledgeable, professional doctors I have seen in recent memory. My issue was urgent and severe and having never dealt with such a serious issue, I was apprehensive. I read the reviews. I did my homework. But, thankfully, I chose him, regardless of what others had written. Have no fear! You are in good hands! He is no-nonsense and straight forward. He is a little sprout of a guy that truly cares. His staff is amazing!! Truly kind, caring people who go the extra step to make sure you are comfortable and cared for.

Dr. Hughes, if you can call him a professional, is by far the worst doctor I have ever seen in my life. This man is very rude, abrupt, dismissive, arrogant and "all about the money". I left the office without any answers to my questions. It concerns me that this man has been receiving very bad reviews for years and the practice has done nothing about it. Avoid this doctor!

Dr. Hughes was very dismissive of what I was reporting (issues related to the ear such as ringing, pain, pressure, fullness, itching, vertigo and discomfort). He would ask a question and before I could finish my sentence, start shaking his head making a statement contrary to what I was reporting. He suggested I see a dentist for potential TMJ stating "young women tend to grind their teeth at night" after telling me I have perfect teeth and no visible wearing in the back of my mouth/teeth. I informed him that I definitely do not grind or clench down at my teeth, nor have I ever. With out any warning he stuck his fingers in my ears to feel the inner walls of the ear. I moved forward so his fingers could be removed from my ears. I voiced to him how unsanitary that was, as he had not washed his hands and touched door handles, other patients and various surfaces. He smugly proceeded to tell me the "ears already have all kinds of bacteria in them such as streptococcus" and him sticking… his un-washed fingers in my ear is not going to cause any infection. He did not acknowledge how unprofessional and unsanitary it was nor did he apologize. It is rare that I write a poor review about any person or place, but I  had such a  terrible experience and  would strongly suggest against selecting him as your ENT specialist.

I have seen Dr. Hughes a few times. He was very nice and explained everything thoroughly. He also answered any questions that I had.I had ear surgery yesterday and today he personally called me to see how I was and to explain exactly what he did, something which no other doctor has ever done. Wait time was minimal. Overall I had great experiences with Dr. Hughes.

Very positive appointment and experience. Dr. Hughes was profession, took the time to explain everything with me. Will return in 6 weeks to see how my ear is healing.

Horrible bedside manner

Office was wonderful, he on the other hand was not. He was very dismissive, kept interrupting and would not listen. Found another ENT for our child.

I have to agree with the poster below me. He was rude and didn't care what I had to say about my child. I will not be going back to him.

Dr. Hughes has a terrible bedside manner. He was rude and dismissive . Definitely not good with kids at all. He's strange and creepy. Not going back to him.

I have seen Dr. Hughes a couple of times. He was very cordial and explained to me everything that needed attention. Waiting time, was minimal. Overall I had a great experience with Dr. Hughes.
