Rest in peace Dr. Hunter. You were a giant in the field. I am honored to be one of your early patients in your career in 1967. I still have the typed bill for your services.

One of the world's foremost hand surgeons--and one of the world's foremost good guys. Worth the trip and the hassle to see him from anywhere in the world. The problems: his staff can be brusk, he doesn't correct errors in his reports and it can take FOREVER to see him. Plan on blowing an entire day (and perhaps an evening) when you have an appointment with him. However, when you see Dr Hunter, he is VERY thorough, VERY careful, etc. He will answer ALL of your questions. If you need 90 minutes of his time, you'll get it. He's really too nice of a guy... Because he's this way with ALL of his patients, he's NEVER on time.... If there's an emergency in the rehab gym, he can REALLY get bogged down... like be 8 to 10 hours late for appointments... I've heard about times when he had clinic and was still seeing patients at 10pm, 11pm.... when he had a really bad day. A lot of patients would not put up with this. However, when you finally do see Dr Hunter and see what a brilliant… doctor and a fine gentleman he is, all is forgiven... So if your doc say that you really need to go to Philly to see Dr Hunter, just do it.
