Dr. James Philip Hutton, MD

He is the best doctor I've ever seen.

I spent 3 days in a rural hospital with the same dermatological problems I'd been having for the past 11 months and was transferred to the major city north of town by ambulance. My routine/family practice doctor had given up on trying to corner/pinpoint this ailment and what is was doing to my body was visually horrifying! I was admitted into the Big-City Hospital and was seen by 4 specialist within an hour. Dr Hutton and some residents were among the curious. He didnt brag, attempt to sound Know-it-all-ish at all, he was as baffled as everyone else that week. But he did what no one else had done at that point. Said to give him the evening and run some tests, get a good history on me and copy of my previous tests and hospital and office visits from my hometown-and maybe by morning he could have it narrowed down at least! He ruled out alot of things it was NOT and immediately cancelled medications and wound care orders that were costly as well as unnecessary at the time! Just his… reassurance gave me my first "almost" peaceful night at a hospital! He returned the following morning with his residents and a computer printout of what he felt was plagueing me and had been recurring for the last 11 months-just in different degrees and severity! He seemed excited and very humble at the same time! I hope I made him understand just how much putting a "name" to what has turned my life and my family's life upside-down, meant to me! Regardless of how bad or good it turned out to be, it had a name-AND a clue of how to start attacking IT now instead of ME being the victim! He did admit that he was still baffled by what CAUSES this particular ailment-but knew for sure what NOT to do for it! Within the 2nd day of his treatment-it was visiblly clear that we were at least CLOSER than anyone else had been and were slowly starting to heal! Slow healing was a God-Send to someone who was just 41yrs old, a mother of 4 children, wife, a Registered Nurse as well as a College Professor for the last 10 years-who thought I might soon lose my forearms and possibly suffer deep tissue damage to both of my lower legs!

Probably would not survived without Dr Hutton. Answered every question honestly and to my satisfaction.

Actually morticians would probably have a better bedside manner.Although he may be highly skilled in his field, and a member of the hospital board, he is emotionally casturated from the situation and lacks any hint of personality or compasion.How can he when he is much too interested in flaunting a God complex and undermining other doctors in front of patients.Cattle are treated better in feedlots than persons in Dr. Hutton's care.
