Toledo, Ohio native, Dr. James A. Jacob is a member of the Board of Managers at the Mooresville Endoscopy Center and the Executive Committee at Indianapolis Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Jacobs career is distinguished by his passion for quality healthcare through a number of leadership roles. He is the past President of Indianapolis Gastroenterology and Hepatology and a former Vice Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at Community Hospital South also serving as the Chairman of the departments Quality Assurance Committee. During Dr. Jacobs presidency, IGH increased its clinical presence in Shelbyville from two to five days per week. Dr. Jacob graduated Cum Laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, then attended the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. My experience with Dr. Jacob was informative. We talked about my procedure and what to expect . This lessened the anxiety I was feeling . The staff was exceptional.They made sure all my needs were taken care of all my questions were answered, they made me feel at ease.

I was a mess when I first started going to Dr Jacobs. He got my Crohn's under control. It had been out of control for some time. He actually cares about his patients. He's a wonderful Dr and a wonderful person. Thank you Dr Jacobs for all you do!

I would highly recommend Dr. Jacobs. I have been with him for 17 years. He is extremely good and caring. My illnesses are always very complex. He takes a lot of time to confer with other Doctors and get the diagnosis correct. He is very good about explaining things in term you can understand. He does a very good job of following up after visits. He is always available for problems from home, he has always returned my calls with the needed information, as soon as he possible can. I realize I am not his only patient and he give everyone the same concern he gives me, of that I am sure. He stays up to date on the new medicines and techniques. I have the utmost confidence in him. I would use any other Doctor he recommended, from his group or others. He has truly been a blessing for me and my family. He cares for each and every patient, you are not just a number to him.
