Dr. James Joseph Jenson, MD

Dr Jenson is good at meds, theoretically, but he is such a bad listener that he diagnoses sloppily and hence doesn’t know what the meds should br targeting. He wrote his own intake questionnaire and is so invested in its (that is, his) infallibility that he won’t change the diagnosis or the treatment plan. Sorry, if you didn’t say something during the first appointment, it doesn’t count. A true martinet—follows some arbitrary set of rules without any notion of the good of the patient or even—gasp!—the possibility that he himself may be wrong once in awhile. And here is the kicker: his sacred questionnaire never asks about the patient’s goals. Every other psychiatrist’s intake form does ask. He just projects his own puerile opinions onto his patients. No matter that, even if he were objectively accurate in his diagnosis, the effect on the patient of having his/her feelings routinely discounted is sure to make anyone’s mental illness worse. I asked Dr Jenson about his almighty intake… questionnaire once. He said, and I quote verbatim: “I don’t have time to listen to what my patients want.” Why is this guy a psychiatrist, then, instead of an anesthesiologist?

Dr Jenson was very compassionate and with his help I was able to overcome bipolar depression. Since then I have had great happiness with my family and life in general.

Very poor communication with this doctor. I am a former patient of his trying to obtain my medical records. He refuses to release my records and doesn’t have the decency to even call me back. Doesn’t seem like too much to ask given the thousands of dollars paid to this man. Seems he only cares if there’s a check involved. Treatment average. Would not recommend.
