Dr. James George Kalkanis, MD

Dr. Kalkanis saved my life and I thank him for that. I would recommend him to all for he is a very caring, kind ENT doctor.

Excellent staff, very caring, considerate and respectful treatment, not to mention Dr. Kalkanis is very informative and LISTENS to his patients! Even with my HMO issues, they were helpful and accommodating. Mostly resolved issue, further testing will prove if treatment was effective or further treatment is necessary, so far so good. Nice job, guys!

Very personable

He is very quick to get you done and over with. His scheduling nurse for any surgeries is very rude and obnoxious. I would not recommend him as a doctor .

We showed up on time and encountered difficulty with the staff. I arrived with my mother and because English is not her first language, I am always present at her medical appointments for interpretation and to ask questions. The staff were resistant about my presence and tried to say that I needed to show them a power of attorney just to talk to the doctor on her behalf. My mother was present and knows just enough English to state that she definitely wants my help and we've never had trouble at other doctors offices. After that, during the appointment, Dr. Kalkanis asked me questions and when I needed to take the time to translate for my mother so that she could answer me, he would cut me off, act impatient, and badgered me about giving him the answers faster. He's an ear doctor, my mother has HEARING problems, so of course it takes TIME for her to HEAR what I'm asking her and for her to answer and for me to translate. He even left the office in the middle of the appointment… in some sort of sulk because our answers weren't fast enough to his liking. In the end, we left because it was obvious he wasn't willing to sit down and properly figure out a diagnosis. Only after we started picking up our things did the staff or the doctor even tried to be less confrontational, but asking us to stay and continue after being treated like we were stupid is ridiculous. Definitely dissatisfied by this useless experience.

I went to this Dr. because I wasn't sure what my problem was. He was so annoyed that he rolled his eyes and told me to stop and not talk. His office has old instruments. He came back in the room with a device to check my nose and esophagus and he was holding it with his un gloved hands waving it around then sticks this in my nose. He seemed very arrogant and rude. A waste of my time and money and hope I didn't catch some disease from his lack of proper sterile technique.

The worst Dr. Appt Ever he treated me poorly...like I was trash...Kept taking at me and If I said anything he SCOLDED me...I still cant believe how he treated me...I should have said something to him no one deserves to be treated like he treated me.

The doctor was very helpful and answered all our questions. He removed my daughters tonsils and she is doing so much better. He also stopped her nosebleeds during an office appt. Dr. K also removed a cancerous spot on my husband, it was on his face! We were worried at first because my husband is gorgeous. The scar is very light, no one can tell he had anything removed. Good job, Dr.K

I've been getting weekly allergy shots for 7 months and just had septoplasty surgery with Dr. Kalkanis two weeks ago. He is an excellent surgeon and my procedure was virtually painless and recovery was easy. It was exactly how he described it would be. I can clearly breathe out of my nose without taking OTC meds for the first time in 5 years! I put off having this surgery for two years due to pregnancy and then fear of having it done. Dr. Kalkanis is an expert in ENT matters and I would highly recommend him. The office staff is wonderful and helpful.

Didn't see the Dr. Had a difficult time with phone staff to make a consultation appointment for ear tubes for my son (4 weeks before I could see him). When I finally arrived to the Winchester Rd. office, they didn't have the referral so it messed up my appointment time & they wanted to reschedule and left me with the issue of obtaining the referral. The staffs were not friendly nor friendly at all. The front desk lady that was the least helpful and her name was Patty. If you want to be treated like a cattle or a number, then go here. I would not recommend this group. In the end the patient suffers.....
