Dr. James Joseph Kambol, MD

A few years back I showed up at the ER in the worst pain of my life. Since I had lived in my body for 40 years, I was quite confident it was an ovarian cyst, and I told the doctor this. I essentially gave him the diagnosis, all I needed was treatment. Dr. Kambol told me that I was incorrect and that my pain was too high up to be ovarian, and that it was probably diverticulitis. I disagreed with this and asked for an ultrasound. He said "no"- this called for a CT of the abdomen. I was not a fan of being exposed to the extra radiation for nothing, but oh well- he's the expert. Sure enough... CT scan showed THREE cysts on one ovary totaling 7cm. Needless to say, I showed back up in the ER later that same night in excruciating pain (worse than labor) and it took HOURS to get pain meds in a QUIET ER. Somehow I'm pretty sure if I were a man my experience would have been much different. Overall, this experience couldn't have been worse for something so simple and straightforward
