Dr. James Edward Kerl, MD

I don't often write reviews, however my most recent experience with this practice left me so disgusted I could not help but share as a forewarning to future patients. I am a current patient of Dr. Kerl's and have always appreciated his timeliness and thorough care. Up until today, I would have highly recommended his care and expertise. I was recently the victim of a car crash where I was severely rear-ended. After my crash and visit to the ER, I was told to follow-up with my GP (Dr. Kerl) to get checked out and have my stitches checked. I called to make an appointment and was told Dr. Kerl does not see car crash victims. I was not offered alternative care or help in any way but simply told that because of liability and legal reasons, he does not look at those cases. If I were a new patient or had been sent by a lawyer, perhaps I would be more understanding. However I am a current patient and was denied medical care by my doctor because of an incident beyond my control… and because he does not wish to take on the legal responsibility. Needless to say I will be seeking medical care elsewhere but am extremely dissapointed and frustrated that a doctor whom I had entrusted with my medical care refused to see his own patient and instead wrote me off as an inconvenience. If you choose this doctor, simply be aware that he may not be there for you when you need him most and ask yourself why you should choose a doctor that won't put his patients first.

Prior to going to Dr Kerl, I was with a doctor who did only office exams. Neverdid he send me for xrays or blood tests. When he quit, I had to get another PC physician. Dr Kerl immediately sent me out to get a full complement of tests including a colonoscopy. They found colon cancer. If it wasn't for him wanting to know the complete health of his patients, I would be dead today.
