Dr. James Ellis Krochmal, MD

JAMES E. KROCHMAL, D.D.S.
EDUCATION
Dr. Krochmal is a graduate of the University of Maryland and obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore. Upon graduation he served in the United States Dental Corps. After his naval service, he completed a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and completed a post residency fellowship in facial pain and reconstructive surgery at St. Mary's Health Center in St. Louis.
ACADEMIC APPOINTMENTS
Dr. Krochmal holds academic appointments at Old Dominion University Department of Health Sciences and MCV/VCU School of Dentistry. He is on the faculty at Eastern Virginia Medical School Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
LEADERSHIP
Active in state and local dental and oral surgery societies, Dr. Krochmal has served as the President of the Tidewater Dental Association. He is presently on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Dental Association and …on the Executive Council of the Virginia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has been honored with fellowships in the Virginia Dental Association, the Pierre Fauchard Society, American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Dr. Krocmal is active in many community activities including service on the Advisory Committee of the Red Cross Park Place Dental Clinic. He regularly donates his time there as well as with the Virginia Dental Association Eastern Shore Dental Mission of Mercy.
SPORTS DENTISTRY
Dr. Krochmal is the team oral surgeon for the Norfolk Admirals, Tidewater Tides and student athletes at Old Dominion University.
HOSPITAL PRIVILEGES
Dr. Krochmal is on active staff at DePaul Bon Secours Hospital, Sentara Norfolk General, Sentara Leigh Hospital and Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters.
PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS
Dr. Krochmal is proud to be a member of the Tidewater Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Association of Oral and Maxiollofacial Surgeons and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
HOBBIES
When Dr. Krochmal is not in the office he can be found in the greenhouse with his orchids and serves on the board of the Tidewater Orchid Society. He is an avid Admirals, Tides and ODU basketball fan and attends most games.
