Dr. James Lawrence Kwako, MD

I quit this doctor after many years because of his treatment program for myself and my family members. He is quick to prescribe drugs, can't remember patients because his notes are illegible which he won't release (I tried over a year w/o success). He countered my radiolist who treated me for stage 3.5 cancer stating I should not stop my antioxidants during radiation was the final straw for me....ending our relationship! !

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Kwako for 24 years. He takes the time to listen with his heart and mind. Regardless of presenting symptoms, his compassionate care is for the wellbeing of the entire person. Also, he is open to and knowledgeable about complimentary options. Dr. Kwako offers the best of everything in healthcare!

Chelation therapy...the best

I have seen Dr. Kwako for over 20 years for a complex illness (CFS) and my experience with this kind doctor is nothing but good. He cares, he listens, and he is very careful in prescribing drugs. He never keeps me waiting more than 10 minutes for an appointment, and his staff is proficient and friendly. I especially like that Dr. Kwako is both an expert in nutritional/alternative healing as well as allopathic medicine. He is the best in this area in the Santa Barbara. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Kwako to anyone.

I do not recommend this doctor. He has horrible follow through. He doesn't follow necessary rules for authorizing medications at school and makes it difficult for parents and school officials to dispense medication. His office staff had to contacted multiple times for follow up.

Dr. Kwako is holistic and alternatively oriented and very knowledgeable in those modalities. However, he also uses conventional medicine when necessary. He takes time to listen and is very caring. I appreciate that he does not keep me waiting for my appointment.

Dr. Kwako was the only physician among many who looked beyond my immediate symptoms. His holistic perspective quickly picked up on a serious underlying problem and his recommendations to address it have been very helpful in guiding my health path toward wellness.
