Overcoming the Fear of Hip Replacement: A Patient's Journey. Hearing the challenge: "Hip Replacement" can be overwhelming and a bit scary. However, the most important foundation is selecting a doctor and staff dedicated to educating the patient prior to and throughout the entire journey. My experience with Dr. Kyle was all that and more. Preparing for the Change: Mindset and Pre-Habilitation: From day one, becoming educated on the replacement being placed and starting appropriate exercises prior to surgery-alongside a healthy diet and weight loss, set an outstanding guide to prep and ready my body for change. Technology also played a major role from morning till bed. At first, the "mymobility" app seemed a bit challenging and I thought, "This is not going to cut it!" Once I started experiencing change and made it a daily habit, I fell completely in love with the routine and used it throughout my entire… experience until my date of release, three months post-op. I am fully convinced that the discipline of pre-and post-surgery exercises and diet was the key to a healing, successful 100 percent recovery. Expert Care and Real-Time Support: Dr. Kyle's energy is contagious, his surgical skills are impeccable and, his unique ability to educate the patient meant the world to me. The phone app allows you to text and receive immediate responses from a advocate throughout the journey. Each day, a message prepares you for surgery by covering items needed and showing you how to make your home environment safe to begin walking, along with daily exercises. A New Step in Life: To my amazement, the day of surgery, immediately, you stand and begin to slowly begin a new lease on walking. Three months post-op, I am back at the gym and working! A Quick Tip for the Recovery: On your walker, attach a basket or a bike bell for extra assistance if needed. Do NOT attempt going to the restroom alone or venturing around the house without assistance. Protect your new investment! I wholeheartedly encourage others not to delay this life-changing experience of walking upright with a brand new step in life. Dr. Kyle and his staff will forever be a part of my life, and I am beyond grateful. I will continue to shout out mega praises for his skills and abilities in his profession-may many years and tons of loves be blessed throughout his practice. Dr Kyle was pleasant and friendly. He talks very fast and I had a hard time keeping up with him I know that he has to repeat himself many times a day so I forgive him for that. I was, although, hoping to get an explanation of my CT& MRI scans that were taken the week prior or my x rays that had been taken also that same week, but the comments I got were about not having to review those to give me an accurate diagnosis but only that he could do it while viewing “ them from across the street” Meaning that it was obvious what I needed to have done. I was given instructions on what to do prior to surgery. The instructions are clear My suggestions are that Dr Kyle talk slower and spend a little more time with the patient. I’m also sure that every one would like the same thing! I do understand that he has many to see in a day, as he has a reputation for being an excellent surgeon with many compliments from his former patients.
