Dr. James D Levinsohn, MD

Dr. James D. Levinsohn is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist who provides sedation for our patients undergoing gastroenterology procedures in the privacy and convenience of our office. He has more than 10 years of experience administering anesthetics in a large variety of in-patient and ambulatory settings.

Dr. Levinsohn is a native Manhattanite and graduate of the City College of New York. He received his M.D. from New York University School of Medicine in 1990. After interning in General Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, N.Y., he completed his residency training in Anesthesiology at N.Y.U. Medical Center. He has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology since 1996. Since completing his training, he has held academic appointments at N.Y.U. and Bellevue Medical Centers and has had private practice experience in community hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and in a wide variety of non-acute patient care settings. …Since leaving academic practice as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology in 2002 he has focused on providing anesthesia services in medical and surgical offices striving to deliver the highest standards of care available. Dr. Levinsohn maintains an active role in several professional organizations including: the American Society of Anesthesiologists, New York State Society of Anesthesiology and the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia.

Dr. Levinsohn has spent the past 2 years specializing in the administration of Anesthesia in office-based practices.
