Dr. James Fitzgerald Lourim

I have now had Dr. Lourim as my anesthesiologist for three surgeries and procedures at Mercy General Hospital. He was my anesthesiologist for my bi-lateral mastectomy. He raised a couple of concerns and consulted with my surgeons. I appreciated the time he took to explain his concerns and how he planned to mitigate them. For him to have raised a couple of concerns means he really looked at my history, read it, and cared to address them as a team. As I go through my cancer battle, I plan to request him anytime I'm going under the knife! Thank you Dr. Lourim. Nancy Goldberg

Dr. Lourim was the anesthesiologist for my recent cardiac ablation at Mercy General. He was kind and compassionate, wiping the tears from the corners of my eyes, as they ran down the side of my face. He reassured me and talked to me during the procedure for which I could not receive much in the way of pain control, due to the nature of the procedure. I appreciated his compassion and kindness. The anesthesiologist plays such an important role on a surgical team--they can make or break your experience. I found Dr. Lourim to be one who makes it. Thank you!!
