Dr. James Maliszewski, MD

Dr. Maliszewski is a great doctor. He has never seem to me to be “pathetic.” At first, he seems a little emotionless. However, his professionalism necessitates him a level of emotional control, requiring him to manage his feelings rather than express them openly. The challenge is to retain empathy and awareness of the patient’s distress without being overwhelmed by it, which could compromise ability to make objective decisions based on data. Thus, he puts on a brave face and carries out his duties. To me therapeutic communication undoubtedly comforts patients, but the reality of a doctor’s limited time and heavy patient load, combined with extensive reporting demands, complicates this effort. However, what stands out most for me is that he applies his extensive knowledge to identify the root of the issue and resolve it, rather than solely providing emotional help without addressing the underlying problems that need to be solved.

Welcome to the new breed of doctors! These are not the doctors that took care of us the majority of our lives. They have retired or in the process. This doctor met NONE of my expectations! Even when I was crystal clear what my expectations were. These young doctors are pathetic! They could get robots to do what they do. They'd have the same personality. No professional skills whatsoever! I definitely will not be going back to see this doctor!
