Awful

Dr Markowitz prescribed a medication for my son's heartburn that he should take regularly. However, the script only allowed for about a week and a half of doses. When the pharmacy contacted them they refused to provide a prescription for refills. Also, staff told me since I was 15 minutes late I may forfeit the appointment. This was after standing on line for 15-20 minutes after arriving on time!

Treated my daughter, had horrible bedside manner. Very standoffish and arrogant. All of which would have been fine, if he had diagnosed her condition correctly. Had to go to another hospital for better care.

I highly recommend Dr. Markowitz. He is one of the absolute BEST at what he does.

Dr Markowitz is an amazing doctor. Like one of the previous reviews said he talks to you, not at you. He always has his patients best interest in mind. I haven't been a pt in almost 10 yrs but was under his care for the better part of 15 years and always felt extremely lucky to have such a wonderful doctor caring for me, IMO he's was and always will be a top doc! I recommend him now to friends and family whenever anyone needs a peds gastro doc.

Just before our son was diagnosed by Dr. Markowitz we had no idea why he was so sick. And why by 12 he had barely grown since he was 9 or 10. Our pediatricians had blown the diagnosis and kept deflecting our concerns, finally suggesting he might be growth hormone deficient. He wasnâ??t. But the day we walked into Dr. Markowitzâ??s office our lives changed. He looked at our son, he looked at the charts, then looked at our son and us and said, â??I know why you feel sick and I know why you havenâ??t grown. You have Crohn's Disease.â?? And he was right. He was both kind and informative, a combination of qualities which we desperately needed. Dr. Markowitz wanted to go slowly on drug therapy but when we suggested he use his â??big gunsâ?? right away, he carefully considered our suggestion and went with it. He was there for us when we needed him. Today, our son is 28, feeling better, and we thank Dr. Markowitz for saving him.

This is a doctor that is direct, which I love. If you can't handle the truth then you need to keep looking. He spoke with my daughter from 8yrs old to 19 yrs old like a person and never spoke AT her or to me and my husband and over her head. He gave direction and explained that it was her decision with him and not a "listen to your parents" type of situation so it made it much easier for her father and I to tell her if she doesn't like something she needed to speak with him and work it out. It allowed us the freedom to guide and ask questions. He always went over all the variables and provided honest feedback. He was patient with all my questions and provided direction as needed. He has been fantastic and we would highly recommend him!! He says his crystal ball only works for 24 hours at a time - he wont go into the "what if's" which is very important...24 hours of Crohns is enough to worry about at one time let alone a million possibilities that may never happen.
