He was my neurologist in Monroe, WI. When he walked into the exam room he knew if I was having a good day or a bad day. I haven't had a doctor as kind as he since then.

In my opinion, Dr. James P Maynard is one of the BEST doctors I have ever seen in all my 40 yrs. I've been seeing him for the past 4 or 5 yrs now for my sleep apnea. He has the best bedside manor of any doctor in the area that I've seen and is very compassionate and understanding. He listens intently to me and gives me the best advice he can according to the things that I want and need as his patient. One of the greatest things about Dr. Maynard is he is not afraid to touch me (what I mean by this is that he's not afraid to shake your hand or to give a thorough exam) which is something that most doctors in today's society don't do often. I wish I could see him and him alone for all my issues/ailments. Another one of the greatest things about Dr. Maynard is that he is great with needles, so if you have to have any kind of nerve testing done... he doesn't cause an extreme amount of pain while performing the test. He's FANTASTIC and there is very little pain associated with this test that… he perform!! I would also like to say that his staff members are also a perfect fit for his practice (at least the one's that go to St. Elizabeth Florence Hospital). They are so very kind and personable and always ask how my family and I are doing. I would recommend Dr. James P Maynard to anyone!

In 1995 Dr. maynard was my neurologist. I was stricken with trigerminal neuralgia. He was so coninduely concerned about my person life. he would not confirm the disease, he would not inform my employer when I was hospitalized (he did not like the way they treated me) as a result I was fired, lost my insurance, my home, everything I owned and noe I get to try to live on <

Dr. Maynard was very caring and clearly understood my problem. I was scared at first but he put me at ease. I wish all my doctors were like him.

If you are looking for a doc who will listen to you, then look for someone else. The staff at the sleep center is great though.
