I've been a patient of Dr McCarthy for years. He is a very kind and compassionate doctor. He spends a good amount of time with me each visit and while I appreciate that, it does affect the wait time for each appointment. Plan on an hour wait. I must include how difficult it is to call in a refill on a prescription though. I try to give adequate time before calling to check on it but it seems no matter how patient I am I'm often dealing with an agitated and rude receptionist. Lisa In particular. Perhaps it is a stressful environment working as an operator or it may be the office is clogged with too many patients but whatever the case, I don't feel it is appropriate to take it out on the patients, particularly ones who suffer from migraines. Example: instead of interrupting me in a rude voice to say "Ok, who are you?" an acceptable alternative would be " can I get your name please" minus the attitude Lisa. It would be great if you could do your job without making the patient feel as… though they are putting you out.
