Dr. Merrell graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University in 1973 where he played college football for the Indiana Hoosiers. He then received his Doctorate Degree from The Ohio State University in 1976. He taught the expanded functions course at OSU in the dental hygiene department as its Program Director in the 80’s.
He currently is the Chairman of The Commission on Dental Testing in Ohio. The Commission tests the ability of Certified Dental Assistants or Dental Hygienists and certifies them to be able to place restorations on patients in the dental office.
He is a current member of the American Dental Association, The Ohio Dental Association, and Central Ohio Study Club.
Dr. Merrell is married and has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. He enjoys watching sports in his spare time and raises quarter horses. He and Dr. Alan Wood have been partners in the same office since 1976 at their present location.
