Dr. James Gregory Mhyre

Dr. Mhyre was able to preform my surgery quickly and in the least invasive way (laparoscopically). He carefully explained the procedure to me, informed me of complications due to an infection that had developed before the emergency surgery, and made sure I completely recovered. In short, he is a good doctor and I recommend him highly.

I was seeing Dr. Mhyre to follow-up on an accident that caused a compression fracture in my spine. Despite showing neuroligical symptoms 6 weeks after my hospitalization, he did not order tests and scans to investigate but instead referred me back to my primary care. 3 months post injury, I am now seeing a specialists who confirmed I have a more extreme injury, a burst fracture, that requires surgery to stablize. I don't understand why Dr. Mhyre didn't order tests earlier and why I'm only now finding out my fracture puts me at risk for permanent paralysis if I fall. I want to trust my doctor, but you have to be your own advocate.
