Dr. James Benjamin Mikeworth, MD

Dr. Milkeworth is a very good doctor, but why the poor rating? Read on...First, again, he is very smart and up to date on the latest medical conditions and treatments. That however is where the positive aspects end. He is a family physician/pediatrician and OSF has allowed him to get over-booked. It routinely takes up to two months or more to get an appointment with him. If you have a complex medical condition, forget it. You will never get prompt appointments. Most patients, unless they book out months in advance, will have to see a APN or NP. Seeing and APN or NP is fine for basic care but for most complex issues they have to defer to the doctor. Case in point, I was an established patient that was very happy until I was diagnosed with a complex health condition. My unhappiness stemmed from the fact that I could no longer get quality care from this provider. I could literally, get into Mayo Clinic (which is a 500 mile drive) quicker than I could get into to see Dr.… Mikeworth. Mayo wanted me to follow up locally with Dr. Mikeworth which was impossible to do in any timely fashion. Attempted messaging was a joke as well. The only options were APN's who could not handle the situation. If you are content with waiting for months to see the doctor, or seeing APN's in place of the doctor, then this doctor is for you. If not, move on and find better personal care, I did.

Good Dr. Just cant get into see him when you need him.

Dr. Mikeworth is a pediatrician/internist that is very good. He sees children and adult patients, although his specialty is children. It is best to see him in-person as opposed to seeing his APN's or communicating through nurses or the OSF messaging system. The reason for this, has to do with how busy the office is. The biggest drawback is that it can take three to four weeks, sometimes longer, to get into see Dr. Mikeworth. It is unfortunate that nowadays good doctors are always very, very busy, often times leaving the patients without the personalized care they need.

Does not care about seeing you for a after visit. When he gives you new meds

Very kind, intelligent, thorough, and caring physician. He takes care of my needs promptly. We couldn't ask for better than that!!

My 9 month old grandsons first visit with Dr. Mikeworth went fabulous. Dr spent plenty of time with my grandson, held him and even played a little with him. He performed a through exam. The apt didn't feel rush. We were very happy with how we were treated

This doctor has the WORST bedside manner of any doctor I have ever been to. A doctor is supposed to help you, NOT make you cry. I wouldn't trust him with my dog. I thought about trying to establish myself with one of the nurses but the rest of the staff is so rude that it's not even worth it.
