Dr. James Love Moore, MD

I'm a young lady with an ovarian tumor who was sent to Dr. Moore for consult. He said he felt uneasy about my complex mass and rushed the surgery date. Flipping my life upside down to rush fmla forms and school forms for what turned to be a non emergent surgery. On surgery day, the nurse told me to wipe down everything but my "BOOT and COOT" ...I'm thinking, "you're a medical professional...did you really say that?" Anyway, long story short..I felt rushed and ill prepared for the laparotomy; he planned to remove my right ovary and tube as well. Mind you, at this point..I've been given no scans or tests from him. The surgery ended up being postponed due to me having a vasovagal syncope. At this time, I sought out MD Anderson in Houston TX and I can't begin to explain the difference in care...it was head and shoulders above what I'd experienced at Baptist. They scheduled me for a PET and CAT, xrays plus more, counseling services and truly went above and beyond, not to mention they have… an in house geneticist. My new doctor there determined a minimally invasive surgery of just tumor removal using a different technique would be ideal for me. Her plan improves my chances of fertility and cuts recovery time and pain. I still have a long road ahead of me, but the point is...for anyone reading, if you have the resources...get a second opinion. If you can, I'd refer to MD Anderson.

I attended a follow-up visit with my grandmother at Dr. Moore's office today. I found him to be very UNCOMPASSIONATE. His tone and demeanor when talking to my aunt and I were very matter-of-fact, non-caring, and and inconsiderate When he said "Just to be clear you do understand she has cancer." was my first time hearing this information and he said it as though he wanted to reiterate that she has cancer. I asked what stage the cancer was in. He said this cancer (uterin cancer) doesn't have stages, which was odd becasue I've never heard of cancer not being in a stage of development. I asked what are the treatment options, he gave some but doubled back and said the medicine he had prescribed was the best option, as if he has her care all figured out. I asked more questions, I guess he got tired of answering questions and he yelled "SHE IS GOING TO DIE FROM THIS!!!" My grand mother was lying there on the table and he is predicting her DEATH with his "know-it-all" attitude. I would… not send my dog to Dr. James Moore, and I would not refer anyone else to him either. Unless you want to be told you are going to DIE.

Dr. Moore was referred to me by another physician and I trusted her opinion. I am so glad that she referred me to Dr. Moore! He is truly a caring and knowledgeable physician! The first time I was in his waiting room I was so nervous and he had never seen me before, but when he walked in, he just started talking to me as if we had known each other for years! I was no longer nervous and was at ease that everything was going to be alright! That is the kind of Doctor he is. He truly understands that women need more than a good experienced doctor, they need one with compassion as well. He truly is and I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Moore is the most caring dr. I have ever used. He personally has called me at home including on a Sunday evening regarding my insurance and his referals. This was following my surgery. He is very personable and friendly. After being told I most likely had cancer, I was terrified. He made me feel very comfortable immediately. He is a great doctor. I was referred by my gynecologist on May 11. I met with him on May 16. I had surgery on May 18.
