Dr. James Durning Moore, DDS

My son and I have been patients with James Moore for several years. It was highly recommended by him that I get a custom mouthguard made because I grind my teeth. I inquired about it at the front desk about the cost of the mouthguard several times. Everytime she reassured me that if the insurance company agreed that I needed a mouthguard after looking at the x-rays and a statement from the dentist that it would pay 100 percent of the cost. I was in shock when I received the 1000$ bill and asked her about it. She said that the insurance company would not pay for it because they were not in network with them. First of all, she knew what insurance company I had and second, they are not in network with any insurance! She was well aware the whole time that I would be charged the full amount. I agree with the previous review that they are definitely not about provided excellent service, but instead looking for quick money! In addition, the last time that my son had to have a filling,… the receptionist stated that I had a very large balance on my account. This is because I had to pay the full price for the mouthguard and was making monthly payments on it. When leaving the appointment, Doctor Moore followed me out to my car and made the comment, "Wow, what a fancy car you have!" It was a Mercedes Benz, rental car, because my transmission needed to be replaced on my car. Obviously he thought this was my car and made the comment because of the balance on my account. Not only rude, but very unprofessional. I would not recommend this dentistry to anyone and intend to make my friends and neighbors aware of this terrible business!
