James Myer

After years of treating my 90+ year old mom, Dr Myer refused to see her because she was 15 minutes late FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! She had a 2 day old cast on her leg, was using a walker & lives an hour away. The insult is how many times WE had to re-schedule due to the incompetent staff loosing reports, no call backs, delayed prescription renewals, or no appointment record! Pima Heart HAD decent doctors so the frustrating admin was dealt with, (and many other patients have voiced the same complaints.) But now, my mom is ready to find a new doctor, maybe one with a smaller ego and a more organized office!

Did an EKG today —abnormal —AFIB, tried to get an emergency appt with Dr Myers, was told cannot get anything to see him —as an established patient I am dis-appointed as this is critical . I got dizzy and fell a few days ago—blood pressure is running below what it usually does—so what am I supposed to do ??

Very passionate, tells you the truth

Did not visit my hospital room after my open heart surgery. When he did visit he started yelling at me and attacked me saying he was firing me as a patient. As a result I now have recurring nightmares, my primary care physician states I suffer from PTSD, and my heart Dr is concerned I may have a heart attack

He was very friendly and had a great sense of humor, he seemed to really care and took my complaint seriously.

Dr. Myers made me feel like I was in excellent hands.

but does not have a "god" complex. Dr. Myer denies the walking on water part but I have seen him work tirelessly to save lives, including my husband's.Welcomes questions and gears answers to a level his patients can understand. Really listens and hears the underlying concerns patients & families express. Instead of giving orders, offers treatment options along with pros/cons of each. Respects patients' intelli-gence and honors their ultimate responsibility for health care decisions. Excellent diagnostician. Does not pull any punches, never equivocates, tells the truth and has an irreverent sense of humor. I drive 270 miles to see him and would drive 500 if necessary.

Wonderful doctor, great personality!
