Dr. James Edward Owens, MD

My adult daughter saw Dr Owens for treatment of her depression and anxiety when his practice was in Wichita. She had seen two psychiatrists prior to hearing about Dr Owens and when she saw him was overly medicated , depressed, anxious and felt hopeless. She asked me to go with her on her first appointment to see Dr Owens and during that appointment he listened, took many notes as she talked with him and answered his questions. His demeanor was no nonsense yet so kind. When we left the appointment, I felt as if there was a plan in place for her and felt hopeful. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing psychiatric treatment.

Dr Owens had a falling out with the Ralph Barrati group in Wichita KS and had since been working for central mental health association in Salina KS. Since then my mental health has suffered because the facility will no longer let me talk to him and you have to go through a nurse whom they have never introduced you to. I was with Dr Owens since 2011 and I have had issues with my meds making me very ill since he switched to Salina. My husband and I have had to pay a dr online to help resolve my mental health issues because ofnotbeing able to talk with dr Iwens. I feel that the facility is into quantity and not quality. I am repetitive g this facility to the proper complaint author for neglect and no compassion and no dr exchange for emergency purposes. They just tell you to go to the er. Dr Owens has stopped caring in his heart for his pati ya that is truly obvious. I’m in the process of getting a new dr.

Dr. Owens is one of the most knowledgeable, caring physicians I have ever been a patient of. His compassion supersedes any other physician in Kansas. He treats you like an individual and not just another patient to push through the door. I cannot recommend him enough.
