Dr. James Anthony Pearce, MD

I will give him two stars because my daughter did make it through surgery without any complications. However, my complaint is more about the billing practices, or shall I say the lack of billing practices, as well as, the fact that it is literally impossible to reach this doctor or his office with any phone number on the bill or on the internet (I tried five or six different numbers that were posted on various webites for him). THERE ARE NO WORKING NUMBERS TO REACH HIS OFFICE!!! Even my daughter's Surgion didn't have his number. Apparently they are just assigned by the surgery center. I don't ever want a doctor touching anyone in my family if they are too shady to make their phone number public and available to their patients. Back to billing. This doctor doesn't take any payment except checks via mail--PERIOD! You can not use any credit card. You can't use any debit card. YOU CAN NOT USE YOUR HSA CARD--YES, REALLY!!! Only checks and payment via mail. That is not only ridiculous, but… extremely archaic. I wonder how outdated his medical treatment is??? No doctor should be unable to receive payment via credit card, even if they pass on the processing fee. They should also make available some form of online payment, or phone payment at the very least. There is something shady about this doctor and I have informed the Surgion who we hired for the surgery and I will be sending this same statement to my insurance company so they understand how his practice is operating, too. And I will post this review on any other review sites I can find. People deserve to know the truth. If Dr. Pearce decides to change his billing practices and accepts HSA and credit cards, PLUS MAKES HIS OFFICE NUMBER PUBLIC AND ANSWERS/RESPONDS TO HIS PATIENTS, then I would be happy to take down this review. Our bill was small, but what if I needed my HSA money to pay for our bill? That's just wrong!!!

I know Dr. Pearce personally- he is in his late forties-- not "old as dirt", as the other reviewer stated. He's a great person as well as being a great doctor.

This doctor is older than dirt. He prescribed motrin without even examining me, he did not look at my records and did not even care. Stay away. Beware.
