Great dentist! Professional, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable.

My wife and I had a terrible experience with Jim Peck, DDS. He and his staff are unprofessional and disrespectful. We were billed charges we were initially told we wouldn’t owe. And when this was brought to the office manager’s attention seeking a resolution, she lashed out on my wife. Repeatedly informing my wife she didn’t care how she was treating her. Then Jim Peck refused to provide me our medical records when requested, giving me a hard time and criticizing me with snide remarks. This office is unprincipled and disreputable. I do not recommend.

The billing for the office is all over the place, they cannot give you a correct amount and will go back and say you owe additional amounts weeks, months later and blame your insurance when in fact it’s there poor organization and knowledge of checking, verifying your benefits. The staff and dentist are very nice at first but get very defensive if anything is questioned and handle situations in a very unprofessional way to the point I get stunned as I observed, heard on several occasions front desk and surprisingly the dentist talking to patients very rudely (shocking).

This is the most unprofessional dentist office, I have ever encountered. The office manager and dentist have disrespected both my husband and me on multiple occasions. Several times we were given inaccurate payment information regarding payment leading to a bill in the mail at a later date and for more than I was told by the office that of course, I’m expected to pay despite their ridiculous error. And then when we left and requested our medical records, which we are entitled to by law, we were told that our request was “too much” to ask of them and “if every patient they had did this, they would be out of business.” And I quote Dr. Jim Peck, DDS of Smile New Braunfels. Jim Peck is rude and unprofessional, needless to say I do not recommend this office or doctor.

Friday evening I began to have a toothache that continued to worsen. I had not found a dentist in the area so I searched the interned for emergency dentists. One of those found was one my wife had be using, after hours numbers for two were on the answering message. I called the first went to an answering machine. The message said they would call back. I did make contact with the other; however, I was told to go to an Urgent Care for pain medication. I then made contact with Dr. Peck. He gave me instruction on how to ease the pain using over the counter medications and called a antibiotic prescription in for me. I was to call his office on Monday to be worked in. I called early Monday morning as was in his chair by 9 AM. Dr. Peck coordinated with Hill Country Endodontics; by 2 PM I was seen by Dr. Schwartze and home with two root canals. Dr. Peck and Dr. Schwartze came to my rescue.

Greatly reduced my anxiety related to visiting the dentist with caring manner and music piped through headphones during the procedure. Very thorough. Highly recommend.

Makes you feel like a family member rather than a patient.
