Dr. James Joseph Piscatelli, MD

Would see me as new patient because of having a previous md

I tried to see Dr. Piscatelli for a 2nd opinion, or more help with chronic gastrointestinal problems. He reportedly reviewed my medical record, staff told me he wrote “No” on my chart. When I asked why, they told me he “doesn’t see patients who have seen other gastroenterologists”. Obvious nonsense. When I complained to his practice about this, I was told that now I wouldn’t be seen because I complained about being blown off with obvious nonsense. Very unprofessional, and inappropriate.

The guy seems either lazy or too afraid to really do anything during an EGD. At most he does one biopsy in one area because apparently he might think removing a tiny bit of biopsy tissue is too risky. He gives you this overly serious and dramatic talk about how much risk your life is in prior to an EGD. That is all theater to scare the first time patient (which I am not as I have been around the block). His operative reports have at most a few sentences showing what little he has done. I have had other GI doctors take several biopsies in multiple areas. And their reports exceed two typed pages. Oh well, maybe it is a combination of fear and laziness.

His office is plain & dreary ! What Dr's office dose not have magazine's to read while you wait?! Nor a water cooler to quench your thirst as you wait ?

An exception to the normally high quality interactions I receive from BMG physicians. Does not like it if you live out of state and come to see him. Before starting the procedure, he criticized me when I was in the OR for being an out of state patient. He will tell you to go back to where you came from and even writes it on the discharge paper in big capital letters (that is like shouting in written form). I thought he was just rude. No other GI doctor has ever made any comment and it never even mattered to them. I got news for you doc, I can go anywhere I please. Got it?

I had a very positive experience with Dr. Piscatelli. He was kind, well informed and answered my questions with great professionalism. He diagnosed my problem with efficiency. I have great trust in him.

The worst Doctor I have ever been to!!!!!! He was rude, made me feel stupid, and did not know what he was talking about!!! I went to him for 3 years and he could not find out what was wrong with me and I just got sicker and sicker. He told me I was crazy and could not do any more for me. I tried to go to a new doctor and he would not send over my chart and when they did get it the new doctor found out Dr.piscatelli had lied to me about things. My new doctor founded out right away what was wrong with me I have crohns and is treating me and I am getting better. Do not go to this doctor he is a jock!!!!!
