Dr. James Dunbar Pollard, MD

HE IS BY FAR THE BEST OB DOCTOR IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA!!!!

Dr. Pollard is wonderful, open minded, easy going, calming, I really like him. His nurse is also nice. Yes, it takes time for them to call back, but they are busy so it is understandable. I don't want to say ALL other staff is bad, but the first time I came, one of the receptionist sent me away saying they never got my referral. Luckily the other receptionist jumped in and saved me. She just overlooked the paper. And she also said even if they didn't have the paper, they could have called to confirm. (or something like that) There is this one person ( I should start asking for names, I don't want to give bad impression about the rest of the staff), that is so rude and mean and is very expressive about how annoyed she is with everything I am saying or asking. I am trying to not get affected by her so I don't have to leave this wonderful doctor, but it may be worth finding an office without someone so negative, specially once I get pregnant. We are trying for our first baby and I am… really not interested in someone with this constant attitude. First of all, if it wasn't for us=people, she would not be having a job. Second of all, there are thousands of people who would be grateful for this job, are thousands of people who treat other people nicely. I've been in pain for weeks, confused and scared, I need help, not an attitude.

Dr. Pollard has an extremely caring bedside manner and listens when you talk and answer questions. He explains procedures and courses of actions well with little to no medical jargon. I am thrilled to have found a doctor after just moving here as wonderful as him. I had an emergency called late on a weeknight and he saw me the next morning. Staff was friendly and caring as well. Highly Recommend!

Spent plenty of time with me explaining surgery options and helping me make the right decision on which surgery I needed He explained all the procedures to me. So I was well informed and comfortable with the choice I made. He also recommended another Dr. when I was having other problems. Hospital bedside manner was great. I would recommend him to anyone.

Nurses take too long to call you back if you're having a problem. They're also very rude.

I really really love Dr. Pollard and all of his staff!!! I had really bad cyst and had a hard time getting pregnant at all. I was so DISCOURAGED until someone recommended him and I thought...what do I have to lose! Well I went to him and he could see how I felt written all over me! Well...now I have a 6 mth old son! God sent me to him and his staff! i loved them all! They were so sweet to me and my husband and always cared what/how I felt! Thank you so much to Dr. Pollard and his staff, all of them!!!! It may be a few minutes wait but when its your turn...you have all of his attention! :) If you want great care and know what is going on...go to their office! All of the doctors there are GREAT!
