Dr. Pratty is a wonderful doctor who is dedicated to his practice. He makes it easy to discuss medical concerns. He is excellent at diagnosing and developing a treatment plan that was individualized to myself. He has the patient's best interest and truly wants them to succeed. I can't recommend this doctor more!

Amazing Doctor that helped me through a very rough depression. He also helped me to understand the treatment and how I could do natural things to help myself including exercise, and changing my diet to a Mediterranean diet. I am even doing mindfulness 2 times a day. I highly recommend him.

I called to set up an appointment and was told I needed to talk to the nurse first. After one week the nurse finally called after leaving 3 messages. My appointment was scheduled one month later. When I arrived I realized I left the paperwork home. I asked the receptionist if I could fill out another one. She shut her window and came back a few minutes later and said the doctor will not see me because I did not have my paperwork. When I tried to make another appointment she shut the window again and would not make another one. I left and felt this was very unprofessional.

My son David went to Dr. Pratty Dec 2016 to start getting help for his depression. David told me Dr. Pratty didn't want to take his case, that he had too many "things going on" and instead referred David to an outpatient psychiatric clinic and a therapist. David tried UCLA Mood disorders clinic, Harbor UCLA and Didi Hirsch Mental Health, all of whom didn't take his insurance. Dr. Pratty was on our Blue Cross PPO plan, so David went back to him and asked for more referrals. No response from Dr. Pratty. David ended up committing suicide after suffering with clinical depression and trying desperately to get help from Doctors who could have cared more and taken an interest in this polite, quite, kind, unassuming young man who really needed help.

He helped me so much during my last hospitalization. He looked over my medication and medical problems in a way that no doctor has done before. He even called my family doctor to discuss my case. His understanding of medications saved my life.

Dr. Pratty treated our son at College Hospital in Cerritos when he was placed there on a 5150 hold. Being that our son is Autistic we have a Probate Limited Liability conservatorship because he is developementally Disabled. Dr. Pratty ignored our conservatorship changed my sons meds without our consent. This caused my son not to sleep for the first two days of his hold, he wasn't eating, drinking and being terrified of his surroundings witha mental capacity of a three to four year old on his third day there he lashed out at the staff. Again disregarding his coping abilities due to autism Dr. Pratty again without consent put my son on a 5250 hold. I have since found out this is illegal. Only an individual with an Access 1 diagnosis (Mentally Ill) can be put on a 5250. After getting a lawyer involved and pressuring the facilty they finally released my son after seven days.

I was given misinformation regarding my appt. The changes that kept being made were confusing and they were unsympathetic. Yes I cursed regarding the situation not at Rosie the receptionist who had given me the information. Sandy comes out and repeats what Rosie says as if I didn't get it the first time. That office needs cultural sensitivity training because Torrance is no longer just a white area with normal people. Some of us have had traumatic experiences and therefore need professional help. Instead of getting nervous, that should be understood. Even after I apologized, no resolution was offered nor was another appointment. Sandy's tone was extremely condescending as well. I would not recommend them at all. In Mental Health, consistency in the staffis what is needed. My expereince sent me on a downslope. Crying, headache, vomiting. ...

He was recommeded by my family physician as "the only person that he would see if he needed treatment". I now understand why he would say that. I probably would have lost my mind and my husband if it was not for the care that I received from Dr. Pratty. Now I know why I hear how he is so highly regarded through out the country.
