Dr. James Allen Pruitt, MD

Dr. Pruitt must be a great doctor because he charged $1,374 for less than 5 minutes of interaction. Trust me, that is no exaggeration. I was in horrible abdominal pain, therefore I was watching the clock waiting for someone to offer at least some relief or explanation. I was provided none. The most useful interactions were with the nursing staff and various technicians. I was discharged with more questions than answers. Other than the initial “assessment”, I never saw this doctor again. After follow-up with an outpatient provider I found out I had ruptured an ovarian cyst. This was documented in my medical record but never explained to me. Over the next several months I had continued pain which ultimately resulted in a hysterectomy. Specialist pointed out several mistakes made or findings ignore during the care I received by this physician. Now, I am being hounded by a collection office for the $1,374 dollar bill being charge by this doctor. That is not an ER bill, it is his fee alone.… I will fight this as long as possible. You should also be aware that this doctor is not in network with all insurances that JC Blair ER is in contract with. This means even though you choose an ER in network you would still receive an astronomical bill from this doctor. The right thing to do would be to waive the ridiculous doctors bill.

He was amazing with my daughter who came in for stitches. I definitely recommend him as a doctor.
