Dr. James Allen Rea, DDS

Dr. Rea would first like to say thanks to all of his patients.  He realizes how fortunate he is to practice in Southern Illinois and what a great group of patients he has.  Everyday he is thankful for his patients continued patronage and hopes to practice in Herrin for many more years.   
Dr. Rea grew up in Christopher Illinois.  His Father is former State Senator Jim Rea who served in the Illinois General Assembly for 21 years.  Dr. Rea graduated from Southern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences  and received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine.  
He has been practicing dentistry for 20 years in Herrin Illinois.
Dr. Rea has been married for 19 years to Valrey (Johnson) who he met in college. They have 3 children.  They have 2 sons and a daughter adopted from China.     
Dr. Rea enjoys spending time with his family, working out, going to Saluki basketball games, and …spending time with friends. 
The 2011-2012 Saluki basketball season will be beginning soon, and they have added several new recruits. Go Dawgs. We hope they have a great year.  Go Salukis!!! My children are doing great and I continue to enjoy practicing Dentistry. My children are currrently 17, 13, and 12.  They grow up so fast.  We have added a dog to our family.  We found her at a local shelter and we can't believe how much fun she is.  We adore Jazzie.  It is the first house dog our family has ever had. We now have 3 dogs but 2 of them live outside and run free in our back yard.
