Dr. James Alberto Rial, MD

For treatment of we'd AMD (both eyes in sequence lover 5 years) - This man has a wonderful manner and ability. He saved me from total blindness.

i don;t like spend 4 hours waiting to be seen because of over booking i like Dr Rial, but not worth the wait.

I had to have emergency eye surgery - they were kind and considerate. Very knowledgeable, and personable.

Meet to see him for my 14yr old son who had a soccer injury, detached retina/hole in macular lens. Dr was very professional to myself & son. Answered my sons questions with easy to understand answers. Explained what he found & that he would recommend a pediatric retina specialist even though he does these surgeries on adults all the time. Appreciated his honesty. Recommended a dr either at Hopkins or DC. Choose the Retina group of Washington DC and am very pleased. Dr Rial fit us in the schedule on hours notice, took his time with us and staff was friendly. Would recommend.

I will never go back to or recommend Dr. James Rial. My first appointment was scheduled for 1:30 pm I arrived at 1:20 pm; it was 1:55 before I was called back. Once in the room his assistant dilated my eyes and told me to have a seat in a different waiting room where there were about 20 people waiting to see Dr. Rial. I sat in the second waiting room for about an hour. When I finally saw Dr. Rial he never said hello, how are you, nothing he spent about 5 minutes with me and left. I was there for over 1 ½ hours but only saw the doctor for about 5 minutes. I left his office feeling confused. My follow up appointment 6 weeks later was worse than my initial visit. The waiting room was already full and the receptionist did not say anything about a delay. As I was sitting there a woman went up to the receptionist to find out what was going on because her appointment was over an hour ago. The receptionist told her that they just got new computers and it was putting them behind. … The woman said she didnâ??t care and that she has been waiting for an hour and the receptionist said if you donâ??t like it you can go somewhere else or reschedule. She was so rude to this woman. After sitting for 40 minutes I went up to the desk to ask how far behind the doctor was and she stated at least another hour and a half. I told her to cancel my appointment and donâ??t bother to reschedule. Dr. Rial and his staff are rude and disrespectful making his patients wait for hours before they are seen. We all have made special arrangements to get to our appointments on time he should give us the same respect and be on time. Our time is just as important as his. If you have any other alternatives DO NOT CHOOSE THIS DOCTOR.

Would recommend Dr Rial.

I was very pleased with Dr. Rial and with his staff. Everyone was very friendly and put me at ease.Dr. Rial was very professional and very reassuring as well. He made a stressful situation much easier.
